Phantom Targets is easiest to mishandle when Raiders enter Topside with a standard loot kit and only start thinking about the objective after contact begins. The project rewards players who build each raid around a specific task, while ARC Raiders BluePrints can remain part of a broader progression plan rather than an excuse to spend every valuable resource immediately. The key question is not simply how to finish the project, but how to complete it without sacrificing efficient farming, survivability, or future crafting options.

    Read the Objective Before Queueing

Phantom Targets is structured in two parts. Part 1 arrived with Update 1.40, and Part 2 became available with Update 1.42 on August 18. That structure makes the Projects menu more important than the loadout screen, because the active requirement determines what kind of raid is worth taking.

Check whether the task involves a fixed interaction, a particular approach to ARC combat, or materials that are not normally carried during a fast extraction run. This matters for both solo players and squads. A solo Raider may need a safer route and a cheaper kit, while a coordinated team can divide scouting, combat, and interaction responsibilities. Deploying without checking the requirement usually creates inefficient runs filled with loot that does not advance the project.

    Build Around the Real Risk

A purpose-built loadout is more valuable than an expensive all-purpose build for most Phantom Targets attempts. Bring only the weapons, ammunition, ARC-related components, and utility items that support the current objective. This limits the cost of failure and leaves more storage flexibility for normal farming.

Confirm the objective and identify the items or interactions that directly progress it.
Use a reliable, affordable weapon setup instead of risking your best PvP equipment.
Carry enough combat resources to disengage, but avoid filling every slot before deployment.
Reserve space for useful materials so the project run still produces meaningful loot.

This approach is especially useful early in progression, when replacing high-value gear can delay other upgrades. More established players can afford a stronger kit, but even they should avoid confusing comfort with efficiency. Phantom Targets is designed to encourage unusual decisions against ARC, so the strongest conventional weapon is not automatically the best answer.

    Approach Objective Zones Carefully

Part 1 asks Raiders to upgrade antennas on Cargo Elevators, making those locations predictable conflict points. Any fixed objective creates a different PvP problem from ordinary looting: other players have a reason to arrive, wait nearby, or use the interaction as bait.

Do not begin the interaction the moment you reach the area. First listen for gunfire and movement, check likely approaches, and identify where you will retreat if ARC or another Raider interrupts the attempt. Squads should have one player watch the surrounding angles while another handles the objective. Solo players should prioritize information and escape options over speed.

The efficient choice depends on your goal. If project completion is the priority, leave once the requirement is finished rather than turning the area into an unnecessary loot sweep. If the location is quiet and your inventory has space, combine the objective with normal farming, but only after the guaranteed progress is secured.

    Protect Long-Term Progression

ARC components and unusual materials deserve more consideration during this project. Items that appear unimportant in a conventional raid may become useful when an objective asks for a different style of ARC interaction. Selling or recycling everything unfamiliar can force another dedicated run later, increasing both time and exposure.

Phantom Targets also includes a separate Player Event scheduled to run alongside Update 1.42 through September 7. Merits can unlock additional rewards, including cosmetics, gameplay items, and Raider Tokens. Check those objectives when returning to Speranza, but keep the event separate from the Project when planning resources. They may overlap in practice, yet they are not the same progression track.

Players should also avoid relying on leaks or datamined lists as if they were final instructions. Official information confirms the two-part structure and the August 18 continuation, while unofficial discoveries may not match live requirements. For budget-conscious preparation, cheap ARC Raiders BluePrints can support experimentation without forcing you to risk the equipment reserved for late-game PvP or high-value farming sessions.
